One fall day back in October of 1948, Georgia Mae and Minor Cohn Sr. were expecting their fourth child. The baby was born in Decatur on the 22nd, their “first female”. She was named Patricia Ann Cohn. Three brothers, Anthony, Bobby and Leonard, preceded her in death.

Patricia attended the (all Black) elementary school known as Moulton Heights Elementary School in Moulton Heights. Her junior high years were completed in the city of Hartselle, Alabama, at Morgan County Training School (M.C.T.S.). In the summer of 1964 she left Alabama to live in Stamford, Connecticut with her mom’s youngest sister, Geraldean Ross and her husband, Robert E. Ross Jr. She entered Stamford High School and graduated in 1967.

Aunt Pat had a deep love for children. She moved back to Alabama and was employed at General Electric for approximately 27 years. She retired from G.E. on June 30, 2004.

She was a member of the Alpha S.D.A. Church in Decatur, Alabama under the leadership of J.W. Jones. She served as an usher, choir member, secretary of the Sabbath School, A.Y.S. Leader, V.B.S. Coordinator, and teacher in Song-Sign Language. Patricia later moved to Madison, Alabama and united with Triana S.D.A. Church under the leadership of Pastor Richard Long. She became the church pianist and remained faithful until God’s call. She always had a smile and hug for you.

Her memory will forever be cherished and in the heart of her loving and devoted only child, Sunita L. Cohn, of Madison; three sisters, Janice (James) Pointer, Sheila (Rev. Sammy) Foster, and Paula (Jesse) Moody, all of Decatur, Alabama; two brothers, Minor Jr. (Reva), of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Eugene (Evelyn), of Decatur, Alabama; sister-in-law, Mary Cohn of Decatur, Alabama; two aunts, Recordia Birgans and Delilah Fletcher, of Decatur, Alabama; uncles, Larry (Delores) and Cortez (Gloria) Fletcher, of Decatur, Alabama; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
