Mrs. Reba “Carol” Johnson was born on December 4, 1935 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Hooper Hayes of the Rock Hill Community in Henderson County. She peacefully entered her eternal home on October 5, 2017 at the age of 81 years.

Carol loved life and life loved her. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1953 and enjoyed her annual class reunions. She was a retired bank employee of 40 plus years. Gardening was Carol’s favorite hobby and she took great pride in seeing her community enjoy the work of her hands. Even in her later years, riding her four-wheeler, tilling her garden, and cooking were things she thoroughly enjoyed. However, spending time with her family and friends was her favorite pastime.

Ms. Johnson was a life-long attendant of Rock Hill Baptist Church and a servant of Christ who exemplified her Faith in God. As an ardent patriot and advocate for the cause of Christ, she shared her Faith openly with everyone. If you knew who Carol was, you knew about her Savior.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents Mildred and Hooper Hayes, a brother, Roy Dee Hayes, and her spouse of 65 years, James Vaughn Johnson. She is survived by two daughters, Reba (Bobby) Maners and Sherry (Bob) Armstrong. Carol was known as “Nana” to three grandchildren, Clint (Fariss) Maners, Mallory (Mark) Williams, and Molly Blair (Alex) Youngerman, and known as “Great Nan” to three great-grandchildren, Peyton, Finley, and Maddie Maners.

Ms. Carol Johnson’s celebration of life service will be on Sunday, October 8th, 2017 at Rock Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Bray and Bro. Donald Bain officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home of Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
