Vernon Lee Fults – Obituary

Mr. Vernon Lee Fults, 90, passed away, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Saint Thomas Stones River Hospital in Woodbury, Tennessee. He was born in Altamont on April 29, 1927 to Robert Lee “Bob” and Pearl Lee Payne Fults who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Carl, Fred and Johnny Fults; sisters; Bertha Hobbs, Wilda Smartt and Ethelene Fults; daughter, Shirley Wanamaker.

He attended Sunny Hill Baptist Church. He loved to sing and play the guitar, collecting arrow heads making canes and bluegrass music.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Newby Fults; daughters, Edna (John) Anderson and Norma Fults; sisters, Sue Nunley and Nancy Northcutt; brothers, Howard (Judy) Harvey (Kay), Donnie (Brenda) and Roy Dale (Lisa) Fults; step-children, Greg Cantrell and Lisa Tanner; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 8 step-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Fults Cemetery.  Howard Fults, John Jones and Dean Northcutt will officiate. Visitation: 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
