Dannah Russell Jones of Huntsville died unexpectedly of natural causes on September 22, 2017 at the age of 38.
Dannah is survived by her parents, David and Debi Russell; her husband, Chris Jones; her children, Owen Jones and Samantha Jones; her sister, Beth Russell West and her husband Todd West; her niece, Megan Jones, her nephews Gavin Jones, Jacob Austin, Cody Austin and Jackson West; her numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Dorothy Russell and Drew and Ann Hughey.
Dannah Russell Jones was born on July 10th 1979 in Wiesbaden, Germany. A creative child with an active imagination, she grew into an avid reader as a teenager, and later earned a degree in Computer Information Systems from Athens State University in 2001. Combining her imagination and talent for technology, Dannah began working and quickly established her career with NASA, eventually working up to a Lead IT Security Analyst at All Points LLC under contract with NASA. Dannah was passionate about her work and mentorship within her craft, impacting her coworkers with her compassion.
On November 20th, 2004 Dannah began her married life with husband Chris Jones. The couple welcomed their son on November, 17th, 2008 and later a daughter on September 17th, 2013. Dannah was a lover of creative pursuits. Fueled by imagination, she was involved with local theatre, make-up artistry, crafting, sewing and knitting.
Known for a compassionate heart, Dannah became a Christian at an early age and was an active member of Crosspoint Church in Madison until the time of her passing. She loved animals and worked to rescue and fosters dogs throughout her adult life.
Of all the titles bestowed upon Dannah, those of daughter, sister, wife and especially mother are the ones of which she was the proudest. The acumen and ease with which she handled the challenges and rewards of motherhood brought out her finest traits and her best years.
Please join us in remembering Dannah at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville on Tuesday, September 26th 2017, beginning with a visitation 9:30am-11:00am, followed by services at 11:00am, officiated by Dannah’s Pastor, John Dees.
