Mr. Marlon M Ledbetter age 71, of Destin, Fl. formally of Sumiton, Al passed away Friday, Sept.22, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. Marlon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was employed for 42 1/2 years with L&N/CSX Railroad and was the proud owner for 32 years of Ledbetter Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. Marlon graduated from Dora High School and Walker State Technical College. He was also a U S Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents William Ernest and Vera Hill Ledbetter; brothers J.C. Ledbetter and Jerry Ledbetter; sisters Dovie Ledbetter Smith, Alta Ledbetter Varner, Avis Ledbetter Scissom and Mary Ledbetter Mandell.He is survived by his wife Joan Leist Ledbetter, Destin Fl. daughters, Leslie C. Ledbetter of Destin Fl. and Lisa Ledbetter Rhea (Neale) Hoover, Al. grandsons Brantley Jacob Smith, Destin Fl., Neale Edward Rhea III (Trace), Hoover, Al.,brother Marvin O. Ledbetter (Peggy), Concorde, Va., sister Audrey Ledbetter McCormack (Paul), host of nieces,nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends on Mon. Sept 25, 2017 at New Horizon Funeral Home from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday Sept. 26, 2017 at 11am from the Sumiton Church of God with Revs Joseph Rogers, Lane Sargent, and Victor Massey officiating burial following at Walker Memory Gardens, Jasper, Al.
