Jo Ann Keele – Obituary

Jo Ann Keele was born September 18, 1931 in Trezevant, TN the daughter of the late Davis Amo and Kate Belew Milam.

Mrs. Keele was a registered nurse. She began her career in nursing with McNairy County General Hospital, and also worked with the Hardeman and McNairy County Health Departments before retiring. While working in Bolivar and Selmer she administered vaccinations and provided compassionate care to many of the local children. Visiting flea markets to look for different antiques and jewelry pieces was one of her favorite hobbies; she was very knowledgeable about the things she collected and could tell you most anything about them. Mrs. Keele was a member of Central Baptist Church in Bethel Springs, TN.

Mrs. Keele departed this life on September 20, 2017 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 2 Days. She is survived by three sons: Richard Keele and wife Linda of Finger, TN, Barry Keele and wife Judy of Bethel Springs, TN, Jaime Keele and wife Evelyn Louise of Jackson, TN; six grandchildren: Teresa Duke, Mike Keele, Misty Kennedy, Shannon Arnold, Brandon Keele, Alan Keele; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolares Isbell of Finger, TN; a brother, David Amo Milam and wife Carolyn of Ft. Hall, GA; and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Keele was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Joyce Milam and Kathryn McComick; a grandson-in-law, Steve Kennedy; and her lifelong companion, Jim Maynard.
