Willard Ray (Pod) Reaves – Obituary

Willard Ray (Pod) Reaves was born June 9, 1943, in Cypress Inn, Tennessee the son of the late Willard Threet and Merley Goldie Banks Reaves. Mr. Reaves was a taxi driver and a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Cypress Inn, Tennessee, and departed this life Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at his home at the age of 74 years, three months, and ten days.

He is survived by sons, Tracy Reaves and Stacy Reaves, both of Florence, Alabama, Bruce Reaves, Booneville, Mississippi, and Alan Reaves, Corinth, Mississippi; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Liam Archer Gooch; brother, William Vernon Reaves, Killen, Alabama; sister, Gail Elaine Ford, Morris Chapel, Tennessee; finacee, Carol Franks, Savannah, Tennessee; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Reaves was preceded in death by brothers, Maynard Reaves and Donnie Reaves, and sisters, Vinnie Sue Reaves and Mary Lou Hubbard.

Services will be today at 3 p.m. at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Cypress Inn, Tennessee, with Chad Balentine and Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cememtery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Gary McWilliams, Devin Reaves, Jeff Reaves, Joseph Rickard, David Horton, and Randy Bratton. Visitation will be today from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood, Tennessee
