Brian Marshall Woeber – Obitary

Brian Marshall Woeber was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on July 22 1976. He was the first born child of James and Debra Woeber. Brian moved to Decatur, Alabama as a young child and grew up attending elementary school and middle school there, eventually graduating from Austin High School in 1994. Brian was a long time member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Decatur and was active in the youth group.

In 1997, Brian joined the Marine Corps Reserve, where he proudly served until 2003. On October 23, 1999, Brian married Laura Anne Barnes. Brian was a devoted father of three sons: Jacob(15), Nathan (12), and Owen (9). His family was always his top priority. Brian was a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, AL. After serving in the Marine Corps Reserve, Brian joined the U.S. Army in 2003 to attend flight school. He graduated Warrant Officer Candidacy School at Fort Rucker, Alabama in 2005 to become an Army aviator. Brian served his country for 14 years until his life was tragically cut short in a helicopter training exercise accident. CW3 Brian Marshall Woeber passed away when his Blackhawk helicopter crashed into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii. Brian leaves behind his loving wife: Laura (Lori) and his three sons: Jacob, Nathan and Owen, his devoted parents: James (Jim) and Debra (Debbie), his sister: Mindy Parker (Todd) and their children, as well as extended family and many friends. Brian was a light in the world that cannot be replaced.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or The Fisher House in honor of Brian’s legacy.

Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, September 22, 2017 from  4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

Funeral service for CW3 Brian Marshall Woeber, 41, will be Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Suzanne Pruitt and Marvin McCormick  officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. There will be a visitation for one hour prior to the service at the Church. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery .
