Charline P. White – Obituary

Charline P. White, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility. She was born on November 2, 1922 in Laurel to Doss H. Palmer and Coy Eleanor Palmer. She grew up on a dairy farm and graduated from high school in Laurel and also from Jones County Junior College. At the beginning of W. W. II she married 2 Lt. Jon E. White in Glendale, Arizona. She lived in many areas of the US and Puerto Rico as an Air Force Wife. They moved to Tupelo in 1969 upon his retirement from the Air Force.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker who loved her family and friends. She was an accomplished pianist, loved music and enjoyed sewing and fishing. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Col (Ret.) Jon E. White; and her daughters, Linda June Buckingham and Lisa Ann Kurz both of Fort Worth, Texas.

She is survived by her son, Col (ret) Richard D. White (Virginia) of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren, Laura B. Munson (Dave) of Arlington, Texas, Marc E. Pinney (Amy) of Dallas, Texas, Dr. Elizabeth A. Tournis (Jim) of Downers Grove, Illinois and Major Jon A. White (Faye) of Boise, Idaho; and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. until service time on Friday, September 22, 2017 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.

Services will be 2 p.m. at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Mike Marecle officiating. Graveside services will follow in Lee Memorial Park.
