Virginia Marie Scott age 65 of Athens, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at Athens Health and Rehab after a long illness. Miss. Scott was born February 13, 1952 in Atlanta, GA to Robert Scott and Ruby McMeans Peter.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 20, 2017 1:00 p.m., at Romine Cemetery with Joe Teal officiating. There will be no visitation. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home assisting the family.
Miss Scott is survived by her sister, R. Anne Scott; one nephew, Joseph Scott Garner and wife, Karen; a grand-niece, Allison Garner and a grand-nephew, Jacob Garner.
Preceded in death by her mother, Ruby McMeans Peter of Athens and her father, Robert E. Scott, Jr. of Valdosta, GA.
Miss Scott is a graduate of East Limestone High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Athens State University.
