Mark Leonard Pope age 56 of Athens, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Pope was born January 23, 1961 in Rockford, IL to Robert Pope and Barbara Lucille Laxon Pope.
Services will be Wednesday, September 20, 2017 11:00 a.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Everette Conn officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Survived by two daughters, Brittney Haney and husband, Stephen of Athens and Bailee Pope of Ardmore, AL; one granddaughter, Saylor Haney; mother, Barbara Pope of Athens; two sisters, Ruth Ann Burke and husband, Eric of Ardmore, AL and Sarah Nelson and husband, David of Columbia, TN.
Pallbearers will be Billie Wales, Jr., Gerald Abernathy, David Nelson, Eric Burke, Stephen Haney and Michael Doucette.
