Myrtle Delois O’Bryant – Obituary

Mrs. Myrtle Delois O’Bryant, 84, of Florence, passed away with her family by her side on September 15, 2017. She was a member of Salem Church of Christ. Mrs. O’Bryant was raised in Cloverdale, Alabama and a graduate of Central High School. She was an exceptional seamstress and loved anything “crafty” ranging from quilts to Barbie doll clothes. She found joy in making things for others, and enjoyed being outdoors camping and fishing.

 

Visitation will be today, Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 3-4 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 4 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Brother Andrew Myhan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

 

Mrs. O’Bryant was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O’Bryant; parents, Raymond and Annie Murphy; sister, Cornelia Valentine; and a brother, Bud Murphy.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Smith (Michael) of Florence; grandchildren, Leslie Whitten (Justin), and Michaela Roberts (Sawyer), David Smith (Melinda), and Daniel Smith (Amy); and great-grandchildren, Neely and Madalyn Roberts, and Denver Whitten; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Pallbearers will be Sawyer Roberts, Justin Whitten, David Smith, Daniel Smith, Mark Bratcher, and Jay Gibson.

 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and the staff of Hospice of North Alabama.
