Hazel Pearl (Presnell) Baker – Obituary

Mrs. Hazel Pearl (Presnell) Baker, 90, passed away Tuesday September 12, 2017 at the SHC of Putman nursing home in Algood, Tennessee. She was born in Watauga County, North Carolina to Benjamin Harrison Presnell and Sally James Presnell who preceded her in death along her husband Delbert Lynn Baker; 8 brothers and 7 sisters; brother-in-law, Leon (Lela Mae) Baker; nephew, Johnny Baker.

She was a Technician at the Oak Ridge Research facility and later worked at a local textile factory.  She was a avid gardener working in her own garden and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, David (Karen) Baker, Spencer; daughters, Deborah (Tom) Dillon and Joyce (Joe) Chandler; 4 grandchildren, Joseph Chandler, Ryan Baker, John Baker and Tommy Dillon; 3 great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00PM at the Spencer Town Cemetery. Arrangements by: Layne Funeral Home, Spencer, Tennesse. www.laynefuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spencer Town Cemetery.
