Louise Ashley Smith – Obituary

Louise Ashley Smith, 89, formerly of Geneva, Al., died Monday, September 11, 2017 at Generations of Red Bay. She was born in Geneva County, Al. and had worked as a seamstress. She attended United Church of God.

Memorial services will be Sunday, September 17, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Al. with Pastor Gary Beam and Pastor Rick Beam officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Samson, Al. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. will be in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are two children – Rhonda Beam and husband, Gary Beam, Red Bay, Al. and Sidney Earl Smith, Jr. and wife, Gennia Smith, Geneva, Al.; five grandchildren – Jessica Beam Kimmons and husband, Ben Kimmons, Natalie Beam Jenkins and husband, Matthew Jenkins, Trey Smith and wife, April Smith, Ashley Smith and wife, Chelsea Smith and Michelle Smith Picklesimer and husband, Matthew Picklesimer and eight great-grandchildren – Gracie Jenkins, Trevor Smith, Sydney Smith, Trent Smith, Leila Smith, Ava Smith, Bridges Picklesimer and Rivers Picklesimer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Earl Smith, Sr., an infant daughter, LaVonda Barnes, her parents, Charlie A. Ashley and Tommie Sarah Oliver Ashley, a sister, Edna Ashley Ausley and a brother, Felton Ashley.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 17, 1-2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dementia Disease Research in honor of Louise @support.brightfocus.org.
