Lebra May Brown Moore, precious wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother went to be with the Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ on September 12, 2017.

She was born December 18, 1922 in New Site, MS to Clifton Brown and Leila England Brown, attended New Site High School and was Valedictorian of the Class of 1942. Lebra played basketball and loved to sing, doing so with her sisters during school events with her pitch perfect harmony voice.

She married the love of her life, Ralph Hardin Moore, Sr. in December, 1942 and they were married sixty years at the time of his death in 2002. Lebra was in every way a “true southern lady” and was proud to be called a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She loved her home and family farm at Moore’s Mill that she and Hardin worked side by side to make.

Lebra, a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church, loved the Lord and had a gentle kind spirit that endeared her to everyone. She loved to garden and was an excellent cook. She could make a wonderful meal out of seemingly nothing and everyone was always welcome at their table. She was devoted to her family. She would tell you that her greatest accomplishment in this life was her children and grands. Anyone else would tell you that she left a legacy of love and kindness to all who knew her.

Services will be Friday, September 15, 11 a.m. at Old Bethel United Methodist Church, Golden, Ms. with Rev. Earl McAnally, Bro Steve Kennedy and Rev. Kerry Powell officiating. Burial will be in Old Bethel Cemetery, Golden, Ms. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. will be in charge of arrangements.
