Funeral service for Brenda Fairbanks Gill, age 74, of Decatur, will be Friday, September 15, 2017, 3:00 p.m. at Cave Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Doss officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends for three hours prior to service at the church. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Gill, who died Monday, September 11, 2017, at her residence, was born September 18, 1942, in Priceville, to David T. Fairbanks and Frances Bishop Fairbanks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Gill, parents, and four siblings, Josephine Swain, Gaylon Fairbanks, Jean Jennings, Tye Fairbanks. Mrs. Gill was a hairdresser for 30 years. She was a life long child of God, and a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by one son, Timothy Baucom of Athens; two daughters, Joan Baucom of Birmingham, and Jana Baucom of Madison; four brothers, Don Fairbanks of Decatur, Eddie Fairbanks of Cleveland, TN, Van Fairbanks of Hartselle, and Mark Fairbanks of Lewisburg, TN; two sisters, Jackie Chaffin and Jan Partlow, both of Priceville; three grandchildren, Baylee Baucom, William Baucom, and Jaycee Baucom; and several nephews and nieces.
