Jessie William “Billy” Sharpton, Jr., 73, passed away on September 9, 2017 after a brief illness.
Billy was veteran of the United States National Guard and a lifelong member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 760. He was an avid fan of Alabama football, watching old westerns, listening to and playing various types of music, and reading biblical and other spiritual literature.
Billy was survived by his daughter, Amy Lynn Sharpton; son, Jody (Tina) Sharpton; brother, Jon (Melody) Sharpton; mother-in-law, Lucille Duckett; special friends, Joe Whit and Bobbie Miller; and his beloved dog, Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Joy and J.W. Sharpton.
A graveside service will be held at Tri Cities Memorial Gardens on Florence Blvd, Monday, September 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Jon Sharpton officiating.
