Virgil Collins Wilkes – Obituary

Virgil Collins Wilkes passed away Saturday morning, September 9, 2017, at St. Thomas West in Nashville. He was born in Giles County on April 22nd, 1922 and was 95 years old. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He retired from the State of Tennessee as an Arson Investigator and was a member of the Second Street Church of Christ.

Visitation will be 1 o’clock until 4 o’clock Sunday, September 10th, 2017, at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be 10 o’clock Monday, September 11, 2017, at Mars Hill Cemetery in Cornersville, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joy Mabry Wilkes. His parents Virgil Ezra and Bessie Mae Collins Wilkes along with his sister Thirza Wilkes McCabe.

He is survived by his son Richie (Vanessa) Wilkes of Franklin, TN.
Grandchildren, Jay (Miranda) Wilkes of Franklin and Brooke Wilkes of Franklin.
Great-Grandchildren, Colin Wilkes, Tyler Sizemore, And Ryan Wilkes.
Sisters, Linda Jones of Pulaski and Geraldine Hays of Florida.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Virgil Collins Wilkes.
