Wes Emmons – Obituary

Wes Emmons , 83, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017. The family will greet friends at Woodward Avenue Baptist Church from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2017, with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Will Rushing is officiating.

Wes was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 760 for 63 years and served on the Muscle Shoals Electric Board, Civil Service Board, and was a Local 760 Business Agent. Wes was actively involved in the Muscle Shoals Community and also enjoyed working in his garden and his yard, riding his bike around town, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Wes was preceded in death by his brothers, Gillis, Mack, Billy Joe, Ralph, Tommy, and Floyd; sisters, Myrtie, Artie Mae, and Bobbie Jean; and grandson, Jacques Crayton.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Sharp Emmons; son, James Donald Vinson (Barbara); daughters, Andrea Jean Stanton (Paul) and Melanie Lynne Solis; grandchildren, Rachel and Jessica Vinson, Katie, Joe, and Erin Stanton, and Danie and Jack Solis; sister-in-law, Joan Emmons; brother-in-law, Bobby Holmes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Bratton, Mike Price, Paul Stanton, Joe Stanton, Doug Emmons, Jack Solis, Jackson Bratton, and Jared Bratton.

Honorary pallbearers include Bob Hendrix, Bobby Hendon, Sam Stribling, Jimmy Dodson, Jimmy Davis, and Members of his Sunday School Class.
