Margo Grace Hack Williams – Obituary

Margo Grace Hack Williams, age 77, of Madison, died Friday, September 8, 2017.

Born and raised in Catskill, New York, she was a graduate of Catskill High School and Virginia Intermont College. After working in Washington, D.C., she met and married the love of her life, George “Jerry” Williams. After living in Warner Robins, Georgia for a short time, they moved to Huntsville.

Margo was very involved in the lives of her two children, Stephen and Jennifer. She spent over 16 years volunteering in the school, most notably as a First Aid Room coordinator. She also made sure to attend every sport activity that they participated in.

Her other activities included being a long time member of the Huntsville Women’s Tennis Association; board member of the Cosmopolitan Club; President of the Huntsville Women’s Club; President of the Madison Women’s Club; hand bell player in the Trinity Methodist Church choir and Asbury Methodist Church choir; and a tour guide at the Weeden House. She was also a Red Cross Volunteer, serving at many blood drives and donating many gallons of her rare blood type.

Margo was the recipient of numerous awards, including most notably the Department of the Army Outstanding Civilian Service Medal and the Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher Award.

Survivors include her best friend and husband of 56 years, Jerry Williams; son, Stephen Seth Williams (Kim); daughter, Jennifer Grace Ebbert (Matt); grandchildren, Kate Williams (Jonathan), Scott Williams, Will Ebbert, Tiffany Thomas, and Rebecca Thomas; and her fur baby, Princess; sister, Coral Lindenfelser (Peter) and her two nephews, Seth and Niles.

Margo was preceded by her parents, Seth and Mabel Hack, and her sister, Sheryl McGrath.

The visitation will be held at Asbury Methodist Church on Hughes Road in Madison, Wednesday, September 13th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the celebration of life immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the American Red Cross, Asbury Handbell Choir, or the charity of your choice.
