W. L. Bailey – Obituary

W. L. Bailey, age 79, Phil Campbell, passed away on Thursday, September 07, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Bailey loved being outside, enjoying time with his best companion, “Scooter”. He was always a strong willed person regardless how he felt.

The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 09, 2017 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Bro. Roger Bond will officiate. Burial will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Acenie Dean Bailey; his father, Samuel Wilson Bailey; mother, Lillie Mae Cleveland Bailey; siblings, Myrtle Alice Smith, Ethan Bailey, Brown Bailey, Arnold C. Bailey, Hazel Marie Cheek, Shirley Temple Farrell, Margie McCarley, and Mary Evelyn “Jack” Senkbeil.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Sheila McCluskey, Angie Beard (husband, Terry), Joey Bailey; grandchildren, Heather McCluskey, Ally Beard; and a host of nieces & nephews.

The pallbearers will be Adam Carter, Mickey Quillen, Eddie Howard, Anthony Mayberry, and Teddie Howard. The honorary pallbearers will be J.E. Cheek and Bobby Jack Swinney.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the neighbors, friends, Dr. Kevin Kelly, Russellville ICU, Terrace Manor Nursing Home, and Hospice of North Alabama for the love and care of our family.
