Funeral services for Glen D. Gabbard, age 101, are scheduled for 2 PM, Sunday, September 10, 2017 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home, Lexington, TN. Interment will follow in Independence Cemetery. Mr. Gabbard passed away peacefully at his home in Memphis, TN. He was born March 5, 1916 in Henderson County to the late Jessie V. and Julia V Gabbard. During wartime he was employed as the Machinist Foreman for McDonald Aircraft Corporation. He was a retired die sinker machinist from International Harvester, and loved hunting, fishing, baseball, and Southern Gospel Singing. Mr Gabbard was a longtime member of Frayser Baptist Church, and his greatest love in life was his family. He was the devoted husband to his late wife Mildred E Rhodes Gabbard, and they had been married 76 years when she passed in November, 2016. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters and his mother and father. He is survived by his daughter Janice Cook (James), David Gabbard (Ran), and Stephen Gabbard (Debbie). Three grandchildren, Jon Gabbard, Sara Gabbard Derrington, Lori Gabbard. Five great grandchildren, Jayde, Tyler, MaKayla, Leighton, and Connor. In lieu of flowers, family requests that any memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
