William Denver Vickery – Obituary

Mr. William Denver Vickery, 84, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017. His family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Colbert Memorial Chapel from noon-1 p.m. Brother Tom Whatley and Brother Barrett Long will officiate the service in the chapel beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

William was a member of First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jess and Addie Vickery; brothers, Hilburn Vickery and Lewis Flynn Vickery; and sisters, Cherry Couch, Kathleen Greenwood, Ramie Price, and Nellie B. Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Angie Vickery, of Muscle Shoals; daughter, Vicky Montgomery (Tim), of Muscle Shoals; son, William B. Vickery, of Norfolk, Virginia; sister, Bama Renfroe Bates (Rick), of Fayette, Alabama; grandchildren, Amber Sockwell, Erin Sockwell, Katelyn Bain, and Patrick Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Dravin Scott and Miriam Montgomery; and a host of nieces and nephews.

His pallbearers will be Tony Couch, Jeff Couch, Brad Cunningham, Patrick Montgomery, A.J. Myrick, and Earldean Thomason. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Wages, Randy Simpson, Sig Muller, Joel Parker, and Rob Smallwood.
