Mrs. Tannia Sue Bailes, 75, Florence, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at First Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Officiating will be Brother Mike Crews and Brother Phillip Skipworth. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Tannia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Earl Bailes; her parents, Floyd and Easter Jackson; and brothers, Raymond and Ralph Jackson.

Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Lewis and Teresa Hastings (Chris); son, Charles Bailes Jr. (Tammy); grandchildren, Grace Lewis, Christopher and Delancey Hastings, and Austin Bailes; brothers, Robert Jackson (Suzanne), Elvin Jackson (Doris), and Billy Jackson (Gail); and sisters, Ann Starkey, Christy Carroll, Shelaine Dunn (Toby), and Bobbie Sherrill (Matthew).

Tannia was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Florence and loved her church family. Her faith was the most important part of her life, and she led many friends and family members to the Lord with her Christian example.

She worked for 28 years as a seamstress at Genesco, Tennessee River, and Tee Jays. She was a kind, selfless, strong, and independent woman who was loved by all who knew her. Her greatest accomplishment in life was being a loving wife, mother, and Mamaw. Her family was her greatest blessing and she was so proud of them all. She enjoyed working outdoors, gardening her own vegetables, and going to the YMCA to walk and visit with her friends.

Tannia was such a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, mamaw, sister, and friend. She will be forever loved and missed until we reunite again in heaven.

The family wishes to express special thanks to everyone at Alacare Hospice for their loving care of Tannia, especially Dr. David Bachofer, Tonya White, Stephanie Weatherford, Rosie Sanders , and Tracey Birdyshaw.

Austin Bailes, Chris Hastings, Christopher Hastings, Billy Jackson, Jason Jackson, and Matthew Sherrill will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Jackson and Elvin Jackson.
