TUSCUMBIA – Eberybody, it seems, knew that American Idol would someday visit the Music Recording Capitol of the World… Well, our time has finally come. Here we are.

Dixie Griffin, AMHOF Director, was surprised by the phone call from the American Idol production company a couple of months ago. The producer said that they’d like to do auditions in Muscle Shoals. Naturally, Dixie said, “Come on down”… And it’s off to the races!

This morning, early on, hundreds of music hopefuls were in the line. And it took a few hours of waiting until everything was ready.

But eventually, Tuscumbia Mayor Kerry Underwood cut the ribbon on the big event and gave the producers the Key to the City. Auditions follow.
