ATHENS-Ant-Man and Athens Mayor Ronnie Marks encourage the community to support Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September and the fight against childhood cancer. Both will be at Saturday’s Superhero Day at Big Spring Memorial Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help honor our community’s youngest heroes impacted by cancer. There will be various activities including an obstacle course by Athens Fire and Rescue, first responder and farm vehicles, give-aways, a parade, Lego competition, music, food and more. Eli’s Block Party Childhood Cancer Foundation hosts the event.

Go by High Cotton Arts in Downtown Athens throughout the month of September to see the Comic Book Art Contest and Exhibit held in conjunction with Superhero Day. It is sponsored by Athens Arts League and Steelcase.
