Thomas C. Witt Jr. “T.C.” – Obituary

Thomas C. Witt Jr. “T.C.”, 75, of Florence, passed away Aug. 31, 2017. He was a member of Glendale Church of Christ, Quad Cities Bass Masters, a U.S. veteran of the Air Force Reserve, a graduate of Central High School where he was a star basketball player, and a graduate of the University of North Alabama earning a degree in Business Management and Accounting. He was an accountant and supervisor for Ford Motor Company, and a retired supervisor of GM Delphi. He was known for his love of fishing. He participated and was recognized in local, state, and national bass tournaments. T.C. loved attending and watching Alabama football. He cherished his family and especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be today, Sept. 3, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Joel Caudel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Mr. Witt was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Etta Witt; brothers, Virgil and James Witt; and a sister, Ruth Grigsby.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Betty Montgomery Witt; daughters, Amy Witt Thompson (Jeff), and Andrea Witt Perry (Christian); brother, Danny Witt; sisters, Betty Olive, Ola Jean Wallace, Carolyn Wallace, Dorothy Greene, Mary Sharp, Francine Young, and Diane Cypert; grandchildren, Savannah Thompson, Austin Thompson, Cross Thompson, Sophia Thompson, Brantley Perry, and Maddie Perry.

Mr. Witt’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff of Columbia Cottage.
