TENNESSEE VALLEY-The threat of server weather in the area triggers school closings and afternoon school activity cancellations for Thursday,August 31. We have a list of them for you here:
Albertville City Schools – Extended day and extended day activities canceled
Arab City Schools – After-school activities cancelled
Ascension Lutheran Preschool & Child Development Center closing at 3 p.m.
Athens City Schools – After school activities, including sports, have been canceled. Latchkey program will end at 4:30 p.m.
Buckhorn volleyball games (rescheduled 9/18)
Colbert County Schools – Closing at 1:30 p.m.
Country Day School – All after-school activities cancelled
Florence City Schools will dismiss early. Grades K-6 will dismiss at 1:30. Grades 7-12 will dismiss at 2:10.
Franklin County Schools (AL) dismissing at 1:30 p.m.
First Baptist Child Development Center in Madison will close at 3 p.m
Grace Lutheran School Child Development Center will dismiss at 3:30 p.m. and close at 4 p.m.
Guntersville City Schools – After school activities have been canceled
Hartselle City Schools – Middle and high school after school activities are canceled; extended day program is normal
High school football game between Lee High School and Grissom High School canceled
High school football game East Limestone High School at West Limestone High School cancele
High school football game Gardendale High School and James Clemens High Schoool canceled
Huntsville City Schools – After school activities, including sports, have been canceled
Lauderdale County Schools dismissing at 1:30 p.m.
Lauderdale Co. vs. Rogers football game rescheduled for Friday, Sept. 1
Limestone County Schools – Elementary Schools closing at 1:30 p.m.; High Schools closing at 1:50 p.m.
After school activities, including sports, have been canceled
Madison Academy – After school activities have been canceled
Madison City Schools – James Clemens High School’s football game against Gardendale has been postponed. They are working to reschedule that game right now.
Madison County Schools – After school activities are canceled and all campuses closing at 4:00 PM today. After-school care will remain open until 4:00 p.m.
Marshall County Schools – After school activities and after school care canceled
Muscle Shoals City Schools – Closing at 1:30 p.m
Northwest Shoals Community College – Closing at 3 p.m.
Russellville City Schools dismissing at 1:30 p.m.
Sheffield City Schools – After school activities, including sports & 21st Century after school program, have been canceled
Shoals Christian – All after-school activities cancelled
Tuscumbia City Schools – G.W. Trenholm Primary School closing at 1:45 p.m.; all others closing at 2:00 p.m
University of North Alabama – All classes after 6:00 p.m. are canceled
University of North Alabama Football game moved to 6 PM Friday at Braly Stasdium
Victory Fellowship Christian Academy, Huntsville – No after-school activities; students must be picked up by 3:45 p.m.
Wallace State Community College – Closing at 4:30 p.m
