Charles Lewis Murray – Obituary

Charles Lewis Murray, age 80, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his residence.

Charles was born on Sunday, November 08, 1936 in Franklin County. He married the love of his life, Thelma Robinette on August 05, 1956 and they shared 62 years together. He worked over 40 years with Ballew & Roberts Construction as an operating engineer, and was a member of 320 Operating Engineers Local. He was a simple man who never met a stranger. He especially loved and enjoyed his grandchildren.

His visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jeremy Seal officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil & Lucille (Britnell) Murray; brothers, Robert Murray, Bob Murray; sisters, Betty Jo Lowery, Dorothy Malone, Paulette Craig, Judy Hines, Brenda Parker; grandchildren, Haylie Murray, Callie Brooke Murray; and great-grandchild, Aubry Calhoun.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Thelma Murray; children, Dianne Mims (husband, Jim), Rickey Murray (wife, Carol), David Murray (wife, Jean), Mark Murray (wife, LeAnne), Micheal Murray (wife, Kathryn), Chris Murray; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces & nephews.

The pallbearers will be Dustin Murray, Ryan Murray, Matthew Murray, Jaceton Murray, Grayson Murray, Landon McClellan, and Tim Malone.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kindred Home Health and to our special nurse, Misty Berryman for your love and care of our family.
