Jackie W. Young, 70, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis after a lengthy illness. Jackie was born in Iuka October 11, 1956, the son of Lawson Washington Young and Gracie Maude Hubbard Young. He served 14 years in the US Army with several tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the North Tupelo Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. A true outdoorsman, Jackie enjoyed fishing, canoeing and woodworking. He loved special times spent with his family.

A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at 4 PM Sunday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Burt Skipwith and Bro. Jerry Morris officiating. Lee Memorial is entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon fro 4-7 PM.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Nancy Sue Young of Baldwyn; 3 sons, Donnie Young (Shelly) and Ronnie Young, all of Iuka and Jeff Brown (Jill) of Huntsville AL: 3 sisters, Bobbie Walker of Tupelo, Ruth Sheffied (Charlie) of Iuka, and Katherine Young of Tupelo; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
