Harold Louis Thrasher of Sumiton went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2017, at 84 years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lena Mae and Arthur Thrasher, Sr., his wife Irene Odom Thrasher, and his grandson Gregory Mark Thrasher, Jr.
Harold was a long time member of Sumiton United Methodist Church, and more recently Aldersgate UMC in Dora. He was a lifetime member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 91, and a veteran of the Korean War. Harold enjoyed square dancing and camping for many years, traveling with Campers & Dancers #152 and Wheels and Deals, both in Birmingham.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Hulsey Thrasher, sons Stephen Louis Thrasher (Paula), Gregory Mark Thrasher (Lisa), and David Keith Thrasher (Kelly), and grandchildren Cameron, Trey, Allison, and Abby Thrasher.
Services will be held at New Horizon Funeral Home on Friday, August 25, 2017, with visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, and funeral immediately following at 3:00. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens.
