Ray “Catfish” Vaughn, age 72, of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday August 23, 2017 at his residence.
Ray was born on November 5, 1944 in Maury County, Tennessee to Monroe and Annie May Vaughn.
Ray is survived by his children: Dennis (Renee) Vaughn and Keith (Susan) Vaughn; grandchildren: Luke Vaughn, Brilee Vaughn and Sandy Shrader; great grandchildren: Hailey Shrader, Matthew Shrader and Addison Shrader; siblings: Lou Rochelle of Hampshire, Eddie Cotheran of Mount Pleasant, Hopper (Hazel) Vaughn of Duck River and Gayle (Jr.) Shelden of Duck River. Ray is preceded in death by his wife: Jerldean N. Vaughn; his parents: Monroe and Annie May Vaughn; his granddaughter: Kaylee Vaughn and his siblings: Betty Cotheran, Melvin Brewer and Frances Givens.
Funeral Services for Ray will be held in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Friday, August 25th, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Brother Rock Jaggers officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Thursday August 24th, 2017 from 4-8 pm at Williams Funeral Home Mt. Pleasant.
Pallbearers will be Larry Akins, Josh Himes, Randall Himes, David Bridgeforth, Farris Embler and W.M. Jaggers. Honorary Pallbearers will include the Hampshire Community, Employees of Maury County Board of Education, Employees of Smith Trucking and Employees of Blue Spring Rock. The family would like to extend special thanks to Debbie Jackson for her loving care.
