LEBANON, TN – Like the Hajj to Mecca, it was a journey that simply had to be undertaken, at least once in a lifetime. And last Monday, millions of supplicants from the world over fulfilled their pilgrimage to the North American Eclipse Zone to become recipients of a cosmic blessing. There hadn’t been anything like this, a solar eclipse that traversed the entire continent, in over a hundred years. And the Pilgrims, would put with long drives, crowded airports, fast food and warm beer just to see it. Many of them had their hopes dashed when clouds obfuscated the cosmic ballet at the very last minute for a view of the Sun’s corona . Pilgrims in many cities were largely left wanting. But just a few miles from Nashville over in Lebanon at the State Park, the sky was clear and totality was revealed in cosmic splendor.

The Quad-Cities Daily was there to record the moment in EVENT PHOTOS.  And we present them here.
