Apart from being an outstanding classroom teacher, she left an enduring imprint on the fabric of student life at Albertville High School with her many years of tireless service as faculty sponsor of its yearbook, the Mountaineer, and as organizer of its annual Coronation Ball, and in her countless hours of service devoted to other student organizations and projects. She was a member of the Julia Street United Methodist Church in Boaz.

The second of eight children of the late Reverend and Mrs. E.L. Brasher, she was preceded in death by her brothers Paul Brasher, Ed Brasher, Harold Brasher, Aubrey Brasher and Fred Brasher, and by her sisters Frances Bradberry and Dorothy Kellett. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Dot Brasher and Peggy Smith, by her brother-in-law Franklin Kellett, and by twenty-two nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved and took great pleasure from.
