Edwin Nye Skinner age 68 of Athens, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Skinner was born May 30, 1949 in Montgomery, AL to Winfield Woolf Skinner Jr. and Kasena Nye Skinner.
A private memorial service will be planned at a later date.
Mr. Skinner enjoyed photography, motorcycles, and traveling with his wife. He was a 10th degree Black belt in Wing Chun Kung Fu and was an instructor.
Preceded in death by his father and mother, Winfield Woof, Jr. and Kasena Nye Skinner; sister, Ellen E. Rusk.
Survived by his wife, Shirley Halcomb Skinner; three daughters, Katrina L. Ward and husband, Earl Jr., “Butch”, Lisa R. McCulley, Amy A Detlefsen and husband, James; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; one brother, Irven H. Skinner; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers make memorials to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital in honor of his name.
