Florene Maxwell Ables – Obituary

Florene Maxwell Ables, 89, died Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Landmark Nursing Home in Booneville, MS. She was born in Mississippi to G.L. and Cordelia Sartain Maxwell.  She was a minister for 50 years and worked at Blue Bell.  She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 10, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS. with Bro. Curtis Shelton and Bro. James Gray officiating. Burial will be in Dennis Memory Gardens. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS. will be in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are three daughters-Juanita Ables Free, Cathy Ables Hunter (James) and Alma Ables Lewis (Robert); three sons-Stanley Ables Jr. (Monique), Paul Ables (Judy) and Jerry Ables (Ellaween); seventeen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; one brother-Bobby Maxwell and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband-Stanley Ables; her parents; a grandson-Jason Free; a granddaughter-Carol Free Smitherman; two brothers-James Floyd Maxwell and Flaves Maxwell; and three sisters-Flonnie Maxwell Ables Ford, Leatrice Willson and Lavelle Maxwell Hawkins.

Pallbearers will be Keith Smith, Donnie Wooten, Tim Winters, Benford Pierce, Stacy Free and Bobby Rea.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Sunday, September 9, at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS and until service time Monday.
