Bill Ewing James – Obituary

Bill Ewing James of Ocala, Florida, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 from a battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children. Bill is survived by his daughter, Jeri James Savage (Bill) of Parker, Texas, and son, David Ewing James of Decatur; grandchildren, Blake James Savage and Grant Ewing Savage of Parker, Whitley Bond and Patrick Austin of Decatur. Bill graduated from Vernon High School in Vernon, Texas, then graduated from Baylor University and obtained his Master’s from Southern Methodist University. After serving in the Navy, Bill worked in manufacturing management and later opened The Lamplighter in Decatur. Following retirement in 2000, he moved to Ocala, Florida where it was warm and he could golf any time he pleased.
