Martha Louise McKinney Hibbett – Obituary

Martha Louise McKinney Hibbett, 89, of Florence, passed away on August 12, 2017 at her residence. She was a member of Cross Point Church of Christ and she was a charter member of the local Day by Day organization.  Martha spent her life serving God, her family and others. She loved her family, friends and church. But most of all she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Frank Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Hibbett; parents, Cleo and Robert McKinney; twin sister, Robbie Ann McWilliams; son, David and an infant daughter.

Survivors include her son, George “Chip” Hibbett, Jr. (Debbye); daughter, Judy Hibbett Ennis; brother-in-law, Jim Hibbett; sisters-in-law, Ann Hibbett, Barbara Hibbett, Betty Hibbett and Jackie Hibbett; grandchildren, Sarah Ennis Ashcraft, Houston Ennis, Banks Ennis Gordy (Grant), Reece Hibbett (Carrie) and Thomas Hibbett (Caitlin); great-grandchildren, Anna Lake and Carter Ashcraft, Cooper and John Houston Gordy and many wonderful nieces and nephews whom she adored.

She was a devoted wife and a loving mother who cherished her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Houston Ennis, Reece Hibbett, Thomas Hibbett, Carter Ashcraft, Cooper Gordy, John Houston Gordy, Ricky Crittenden, Robert Crittenden and Grant Gordy.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ken Hibbett, Kneeland Hibbett, Lee Hibbett, Rob Hibbett, Brent Hibbett, Ryan Hibbett, Keith Irons, Drew Irons, Jay Irons, Lane Crittenden, Trey Crittenden, Charlie Doss, Robert Smith and Tommy Pirkle.

Her family wishes to express their heart-felt love and gratitude to her special care-takers and friends; Gertrude Butler, Norma Davis, Cathy Smith, Cindy Juelfs, Joni Keeton and Tammy Kelly. A special thanks also goes to Dr. Robert Mann, Elder Care, and the amazing staff of Tennessee Valley Hospice and the many other health providers who lovingly cared for our mother.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Martha Hibbett to Cross Point Church of Christ or to the Florence Senior Citizens Meal Program.
