Louise Steakley Armstrong – Obituary

Louise Steakley Armstrong passed away Friday morning, August 11, 2017, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Pulaski. She was born in on November 26th, 1921 and was 95 years old.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a secretary for the US Army for over 15 years. She worked at Redstone making ammunition during WWII. She was a nurse at Huntsville Hospital. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church, she served in door to door ministry, and was known for her seamstress ability.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 13th from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be on Monday, August 14th at 11:00am in the Chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Green Valley Cemetery located in Big Cove, Alabama
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wheeler Ben “Barton” Steakley, Second husband, William “Bill” Armstrong, parents, Andy and Martha Sanders McElyea, brothers, Lawrence, Arthur, and John T. McElyea, sisters, Pauline McElyea, Mamie Barkley, Callie Pollard, Christine Williams, and Nellie Cook.
She is survived by;
Son, James (Stella) Steakley of Pulaski.
Granddaughters, Karla Steakley, Stacy (Travis) Thomas, and Tandy Steakley of Pulaski.
Great grandchildren, Chesley and Camden Thomas
Host of family and friends also survived.
Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Louise Armstrong
