Drug Bust Nets Arrest Of Two Suspects…One Suspect Claiming His Name Is Yahweh

HARTSELLE-The Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents released a statement concerning a drug bust that took place in Hartselle on Thursday, August 10:

“On Thursday, August 10th, 2017, Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents, along with Hartselle Police Officers, executed a narcotics search warrant at 1642 Sparkman Street, SW in Hartselle.

Agents had conducted a month long investigation into the distribution of marijuana from the residence. Agents made several controlled purchases of marijuana from the residence, which is located just yards from Hartselle Intermediate School. Earlier today, Hartselle Police Officers stopped the suspect, Darrin Jarome Gurliaccio, 42, on a traffic stop. Agents and officers placed Gurliaccio under arrest for three counts of Unlawful

Distribution of Marijuana. Gurliaccio was taken back to his residence where agents placed Jonathan Wright (who changed his name to Yahweh, at the direction of celestial beings), 42, of Hartselle under arrest for Loitering in a Drug House. Agents were forced to call Morgan County Animal Control to detain and remove four bulldogs from the residence.


Agents conducted a search of the residence and located approximately one pound of marijuana. Agents also located several thousand dollars of U.S. Currency, marijuana resale paraphernalia, and several guns. Agents charged Gurliaccio with an additional charge of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st.


Both subjects were transported to the Morgan County Jail. Gurliaccio’s bond is $20,000.00 and Wright’s bond is $300.00.”
