Funeral service for Nellie Ruth Griffus Grimes, age 82, of Decatur, will be Friday, August 11, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Henry Shellman officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Grimes went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. She was born August 20, 1934, in Red Bay, AL to the late Delmar Griffus and Nanie Bell Martin Griffus. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, R. C. Grimes. Mrs. Grimes was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.
Left behind to cherish Nell’s memory are her daughter, Kathy Geren (Bob); two brothers, Loyd Griffus (Betty), and Arlie Griffus (Sheila); one sister, Dorothy Humphres (H.B.); four grandchildren, Keri Bell (Derek), Robby Geren, Andrew Geren, and Jarrett Barker; and three great-grandchildren, Anthony Sawyers, Aidyn Bell, and Savannah Bell.
Pallbearers will be family.
