Randall Wray Maddox 80, of Ardmore,TN, died Friday, August 04, 2017 .

He was born October 26, 1936 in rural Lincoln County, TN, and was preceded in death by his parents Lee Erskine Maddox and Mildred Aline (Mullins) Maddox.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mildred “Mit” (Williams) Maddox; and son, Alan (Leonor) Maddox of Ardmore,TN, and grandson,Jesus (Jessica) Maddox of Toney, AL, and sister Carol Jane (William) Smith of Ardmore, AL. The family wishes to also recognize the many others who have come to regard Randall and Mildred as loving parents and grandparents.

Randall Maddox grew up farming along side his father while attending local churches and schools in southwesternLincoln County. He graduated from Blanche High School and served in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate. He worked many years in the textile industry and along with his wife and son who started, owned and operated the family textile mill “Mitt’s Nitts” in Durham, NC, producing sweaters for all branches of the U.S. Military for 25 years.
Later, he and his family owned and operated a large cattle ranch near Oelrichs, SD.

Mr. Maddox enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading the Bible and spending time with family. A lifelong Christian, he served in many positions at various Baptist Churches where he lived.

A funeral service will be held on Monday August 7, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Alan Maddox , Bro. James Shannon and Bro. Alan Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Blanche Cemetery.

Public/Visitation will be held on Monday, August 07, 2017 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
