Evelyn Sue Barber – Obituary

Mrs. Evelyn Sue Barber, 92, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017, at Terrace Manor Nursing Home, Russellville, AL. A resident of Russellville and the Belgreen community all of her life, she was a member of Belgreen Methodist Church and was retired from Northwest-Shoals Community College, after having worked in the Financial Aid Office there for 20 years. After her retirement, both she and her husband enjoyed their joint hobby of pottery through which they made many friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Barber will be Sunday, August 6, 2017, from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, Alabama. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 P.M.
Scott Lindsey will officiate. Serving as pallbearers are Wesley Hester, Cale Frederick, Will South, Heath Boyd, Mike Hargett, Mark Taylor with honorary bearers being Larry Taylor, Steve Taylor, Dan Hargett, Jimmy Taylor, Steve Hester, Neal Hargett, Ronnie Hovater, and Donald Taylor. Burial will be in Belgreen Cemetery, Russellville.

Mrs. Barber’s survivors include children: Johnny Barber (Betty) , Alta Wilson (Mack), Rebecca South, and Janice Frederick-Sharp (Tom). She is also survived by a brother, Harley Taylor (Racine) and a sister-in-law, Sue Taylor. In addition, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren survive her, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Dena Malone Taylor; her husband in 2009, Morris S. “Shad” Barber; brothers, Donnis and Raymond Taylor; sisters, Bonnie Hargett, Bettye Hamilton, and Alice Hargett; and sons-in-law, Robert South and Lester Frederick.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
