Funeral services for Ms. Rachel Sue Jowers Smith, age 86, are scheduled for 11AM, on Sunday August 6th, 2017 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery. Ms. Rachel passed away Saturday August 5th in Lexington. She was born December 5, 1930 in Henderson County, TN to the late Clemual “Ethridge” Jowers and Ruby Ann Shackelford Jowers. She retired from Brown Shoe Company and was a member of Bolens Chapel Church. Ms. Rachel was preceded in death by one daughter, Cecely Diane Simpson Dunkle, three brothers, Matthew, Silas, and Paul Jowers, and three sisters; Mae Laws, Ruth Johnson, and Margaret Chandler. Survivors include, her daughters; Lela Ann Swindle Pate (Bobby), Sue Swindle Hensley (Kenneth), Mary Simpson Webb (Bruce), and Barbara Simpson Espinosa (Manuel), grandchildren; Rachel, Jerry, Paula, Raymond, John, James, Aunda, Misty, Shae, Krystal, Tavannia, Tammy, Terry, Manuel, Junior, Jennifer, Richarde, Dannielle, Cody, and Chris, 33 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
