Mamie Jane Hill Merryman was born Aug. 19, 1929, and died July 18, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carrie and Jessie Hill; son, William David Merryman; brothers, James and Jerry Hill; sisters, Ailyn Phillips, Evelyn McDougal, Gladys Hastings, and June Vadrine; and her beloved husband of 71 years, James Edward Merryman.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Hannon (Ray), of Nashville; son, Bobby Merryman (Wayna), of Muscle Shoals; five grandchildren, Allen Smith (Tina), of Nashville, James Hannon, of Nashville, Vallarie Hernandez (Josue), of Mobile, Monty Merryman (Jennifer), of Florence, and Dr. David Merryman (Erin), of Nashville; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Merryman was a member of the First Baptist Church Tuscumbia for the last 50 years. She was a very special mother, wife, and grandmother. She will be missed, but we will meet again.
Pallbearers are Bobby Merryman, Monty Merryman, James Hannon, Ricky Crum, Allen Smith, and Josue Hernandez.
Her visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2017, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Barrett Long officiating.
