Neal Evans – Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Neal Evans, age 83, are scheduled for 2 PM, Friday, July 21, 2017 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Mr. Evans passed away late Tuesday in Jackson. He was born May 11, 1934 in McNairy County to the late Fonnie and Adalaid Ellis Evans. He graduated in 1950 as Valedictorian from Adamsville High School at the age of 16 and continued his education, obtaining his Traffic Accident Reconstruction Certificate from Northwestern. He was a retired Lieutenant with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, retiring after 40 years as the longest serving state trooper. He was an avid U T Vols fan and loved traveling. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by two brothers, Troy and Eber Evans and a great nephew, Chad Kee. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Carol “Jane” Jones Evans; four nieces, Beth Reed (Ken), Angela Arnold (Kenny), Dana Hinson (Greg), and Tara Spain (the late David Spain); two nephews, Tony Kee (Debbie) and Greg Jones (Amy); two cousins, Faye and Betty; his great nieces and nephews whom he regarded as his own grandchildren, Laura, Holly, Leeann, Ashley, Dustin, Caitlyn, Colton, Cassidy, Heath, Collin, and Landon; and many other special family members and friends.
