Chris Donaldson – Obituary

Chris Donaldson, 74, passed away, unexpectedly in his sleep, Sunday, July 16, 2017, at his home. He was born August 25, 1942, in Tupelo to John A. and Lila Donaldson. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1960 and went on to Mississippi State University to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. He was employed by Rockwell Mfg., later known as Delta Power Tools for 25 years. The latter half of his career he worked for different commercial construction companies in various positions as a superintendant, project manager and an estimator. He and Marsha had spent the last 27 years in Tuscaloosa, Al, and had just recently moved back to Belden to be closer to family. Chris knew the Lord and was a devoted Christian, husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, and friend to many. He was a member of Grace Church in Tuscaloosa and was in the process of finding a new church home. Chris’s hobbies included woodworking, painting, gardening, and reading. He loved his family dearly, including his dogs.
Services will be 2 PM Wednesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Schuckert officiating. Visitation will begin at noon and go to service time. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha Heberling Donaldson of Belden; his children, Andrea Rene Hopper (Billy) of Anthem, AZ, Amy Burleson Floyd (Trea) of Charlotte, NC and Dr. William M. Rasberry, Jr. of Nashville, TN; One sister, Alice Worthey (Donald) of Belden; three grandchildren, Cody Hopper, Emery Floyd and Walker Floyd. He was also “Uncle Chris” to Shannon Heberling, Justin Heberling and Ryan Heberling.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, John Thomas Donaldson.
Pallbearers will be Gene Fondren, Jimmy Moore, Dennis Painter, Jim Bowen, Walt Walton, Mike Spradling and Donald Worthey.
