Mr. Franklin Parks Layne Jr., 74, of Jasper, Tennessee passed away peacefully at his home Thursday July 13, 2017 with his family at his bedside. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on October 3, 1942 to Franklin Parks Sr. and Dixie Lee Nunley Layne who preceded him in death along with 2 infant brothers, Dennis and Billy Joe Layne.
He was employed by Tennessee Consolidated Coal Company until his retirement.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelley Winter, Canton, GA; sons, Christopher S. (Angela) Layne and Ryan Layne both of Tracy City, TN; brother, Gene (Bonnie) Layne, Gruetli-Laager, TN; sisters, Charlotte Meeks and Laura Bell Tate both of Palmer, TN; 5 grandchildren, Austin, Caitlyn, Shelby, Jesse and Kaden; several nieces and nephews.
