Gena Anders Cox, age 54, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 8, 2017 due to complications with leukemia. She was born on July 23, 1962, in Decatur, AL, to Harold and Joyce Anders. Gena leaves a legacy of her unwavering faith, her love of family, and a beautiful spirit that uplifted so many.
Gena was a loving wife, wonderful mother, adored “Grammie,” and friend to many. She was preceded by her father, Harold Anders. Gena was survived by her husband, Stephen Cox; children, Nicholas (Nikki) Easter, Lindsey (Dustin) Scott, Josh (Lauren) Easter, Kyla (Dennis) Novinger, Kirsten Cox, and Samantha Cox; grandchildren Hali, Audrey, Nick, Tyler, Addison, Aubrey, Briley, Abby, Ally, Maddie, Eli, and a “peanut” on the way; parents, Joyce (Paul) Beard; her brothers Dennis, Tony, and Brad Anders and family.
Shelton Funeral Home of Decatur will handle arrangements, including visitation from 5:30 to 8:00pm on Wednesday and the funeral at 1:00pm on Thursday.
