Martha H. Shelton
(June 12, 1930 – July 9, 2017)

Martha was born in Junction City, Kentucky. After graduating from Boyle County High School, she earned her degree in nursing in 1951. During her nursing career, she worked as an Operating Room nurse. She specialized in Orthopedic Surgery during her last years of practice. Martha was a charter member of North Hills Christian Church and a long time member of First Christian Church of Huntsville. She served on many church committees and activities including Peace By Piece Quilters and Community Outreach. She is predeceased by her father and mother, Jerry E. High Sr. and Frances K. High, brother and sister- in- law, Jerry E. High Jr. and Elsie U. High, and her husband of 62 years, Joe Shelton. She is survived by her son Robert D. Shelton, daughter Laura S. Pfeffer, son- in- law Charles F. Pfeffer and grandchildren Christina M. Pfeffer and Matthew J. Pfeffer, her sister- in- law Patricia G. Shelton, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed for her sewing talents, willingness to help others, generous heart, and infections laughter. Visitation will be held on Friday July 14, 2017 at Hampton Cove Funeral Home from 10 to 11 am with her funeral service following at 11 am. Burial will be in Hampton Cove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Peace by Piece Quilters at First Christian Church in Huntsville Alabama.
